The Books
The central idea behind Freely to You – is getting the Word of God to YOU, and the vehicle we have chosen for this is books. There is a very good reason for this – the Word of God has come down to us through time in the form of The Bible. The Bible tells the story of God’s search for mankind, his attempts to reconcile us to himself, and his final plan of redemption in the person and life of Jesus. It is the world’s most translated book, and over the last 2000 years certainly the most widely read.
Certain parts of the Bible can be hard for new readers to get to grips with, and the Christian faith has seen a large number of helpful books written about all aspects of the Bible, Christian life and witness, questions and answers, prayers, guides and helps … and so on. These in no way replace the Bible, but seek instead the help Bible readers and people seeking God to understand more.
With this in mind, we have sourced a number of books and bibles (for reasons we will explain below and in the discussion forum, there are a number of ‘translations‘ 1 or versions of the bible published), read them and weighed up their value, and brought them to the bookshelf for you.
